Here is the thing, it’s not a mistake. For vawa, the category of EAD to file is c31. However, if you are married to a U.S. citizen and you submit i485 together with your i360, that’s when you can file another i765 with category c09. For people married to GC holders, they can’t file i485 together with i360 which means they can’t file i765 c09.

also with a C09 you get your EAD in 8month or less if you do a c31 you need to wait for more then 3 years because you need to wait for your vawa to be approved

@roberto g Yes they can however sometimes it’s their projection of the time frame. Secondly it’s not everyone who gets a combo card as that is left to the decretion of USCIS who sometimes process your I-765 & I-131 together as a combo and while on other cases they decouple them and issue it separately even if you file it the same time.
