Why EB GC approval is way slower than family based?
I want to understand why GC approval for employment based petition is way slower than family based, if both. categories have visa available? Reddit is full of family approvals where slow to no approval on t hbk e employment based despite visa availability.

There are several factors for one family base has way more applicants because there are preference category as well as immediate relative which is unlimited amount of GC. Another is USCIS adjudicated both I-130 and I-1485 while with some employment base DOL play a role in the process which means something USCIS reassess was the perm done properly.Then you have the issue of maintaining status a requirement for employment base which with immediate relative not important because that's forgiven. so these are a few factors why EB GC takes a bit longer generally. Also USCIS is just slow but these factors play a role.
