I called USCIS and asked the same question. I was in processing for 1560 days (50.5 months). they answered that my I-130 will be processed when visas for 2022 will be available, however apparently there are people from 2022 and later from the same category that were already reviewed and got their answers (approved or denied). Did I miss that day when visas become available? I understood that availability of visas for the year applied and timelines that stated on USCIS site has nothing to do with how and when USCIS processes I-130 applications even within same category. It is a random, selective process which is taking place individually at each visa processing center and these centers disconnected from each other. There is no guarantee if you applied in2012 , your application will be processed before someone who applied in 2024. It is not first in first out process. There is chaos with many unfinished cases hanging their for years when officers opened the case and moved on or moved out from USCIS without closing the case. Lastly, it was already raised by some orgs that application fees that were collected 10-15-20 years ago for the applications that never been reviewed, what happened to that fees.

Hello! Mine changed to in process, I'm 12/2018. We are supposed to go by the Date for Filing, and for consular processing they also use the dates for filing if that is what the USCIS is suggesting. Also "A federal judge struck down the USCIS policies that froze green card and other immigration benefit applications for nationals from 39 designated "high-risk" countries." So the visa ban maybe coming to an end. Make sure you check your emails/text messages and regular mail for that welcome/approval letter. Congratulations!

@Jason Reyes what category are you?
Gordo CJul 13, 2026

Gordo CJul 13, 2026
@Portia Tabitha Saunders You are already current, if you are F1 category you are supposed to used the Dates for Filing. When you on the Visa Bulletin, go to https://www.uscis.gov/green-card/green-card-processes-and-procedures/visa-availability-priority-dates/adjustment-of-status-filing-charts-from-the-visa-bulletin and read the current month's adjustment.
