who’s fault
Hey everyone. I’m an international student. I had some concerns and was in a dilemma simce long time. I had applied for EB-3 unskilled on sep 2023 through BDV. Unfortunately sponsor dropped out. Bdv showed no reaction, as if it was my fault and hung me for 3 more months after LC approval. I see VB has been getting better for 3-4 months. My new LC was filed last year in May 2025. I didn’t want to continue since I don’t get my money back and I told them to choose any sponsor like and they narrowed down and applied one. The thing is i have no hope and lose my patience cuz now I have to wait more than I had to. I have left 1 and a half years to complete my degree. And recently H-1 B was changed based on wages or I might be wrong. So, should I stick with unskilled or focus on my studies? Please don’t tell it will take 5-10. I’m all aware of that situation. I just wanna know what to do.

So what's your new PD now? Maybe consider graduate school, or switch to consolular process once you case is filed.

your priority date will be sep 2023 so it will be a lot faster to get GC if your new sponsor will hold you for that long.

I recommend pursuing a skilled labor position and seeking sponsorship through that employer. The process is straightforward, and you'll find it significantly faster than going the unskilled route, which can involve much longer wait times. You will thank me.

honestly it all depends on you if you can keep your f1 status active till you get your GC

@eb3 sucks I know its difficult bro. but eb3 unskilled is more difficult and uncertain and long. this should be your last option.

Do not build your entire plan around EB-3 unskilled alone. You only have about a year and a half left in school, the first sponsor already fell apart, and the new PERM is still in a long DOL queue. I would stay compliant in school, keep the new case alive if you want to preserve that path, but put real energy into building skilled options tied to your degree rather than waiting emotionally on one unskilled pipeline. That is not because EB-3 unskilled can never work; it is because your current facts show too much dependence on a sponsor you do not control, and the timeline pressure is on you, not on the agency.
