What to do about USPS
So my house number is 7573 and recently, a postman started to deposit our mail at either 7375 or 7553. One of the neighbors know us and returns it and the other just sends it back. For this reason, I recently had a uscis notice sent back. Went to the local post office but they were unhelpful. What can I do? Anyone with similar experience?

@Mike Joni; Thanks, yes I’ve been at the post office and they weren’t very helpful, of course they’d cover for their staff.

@A B; That is a great idea and exactly what I would have done now, but interview is only a few days away. I am just worried that when I get approved, the same may happen as I’ve seen with many people on this app. No part of this journey is easy, no matter how short.

@A B; Thanks! Sounds like a great idea so I’ll try that tomorrow.

@AB... USCIS, if my memory is good doesn't allow PO BOX...
@B Akin it really depends on area but I agree with you that most of those post office don't want to do their job. I faced a situation like that before and I just went to the post office and tell them to keep all the mails with my name and address, I will come and take it myself once I received an Informed Delivery. The informed Delivery will give you all the updated mails in your name for a week period. It worked for me.

@Bayano; I can assure you that uscis allows P.O Box addresses. It is on their website and I’ve seen threads here and on Reddit that confirm that. I’ll also ask them for informed delivery and see what works best. Don’t care what it costs, I am not prepared to wait months and pay $500 for another GC.

oh ok... I might not see well then.

I used to have a problem with this lady that used to bring my mails from usps, but she was delivering them in wrong mailbox or just returning the mails for no reason, and also leaving a bunch of rubber bands in front of my door, so I filled a complaint online in the usps website saying everything that was happening with my address, I never got a answer from them but also I haven’t seen that lady again and now it’s some dude that bring my mail and never messed it up, I guess they send her to do something else or do a new route.

Informed delivery is very good. All of the mail is scanned. When you get email notifications, you get to see every single piece of mail for the past 7 days that was scanned at the post office. I myself am having issues w/misdirected mail, but for mail coming from USCIS I think I’ll have that directed to a P.O.Box. Thanks for that tip.

Do you have informed delivery? you can see what’s coming and request that they hold it at your local USPS office and you go there to pick up

@Rocco that's what I meant instead of spending money to open another one

Thanks everyone 🙏🏾 Fantastic ideas which I will definitely follow up in the morning. I will do P.O Box or Informed Delivery or both, and cancel them after the gc process. Thank you all so much.

Informed delivery is a cost free tool that is opened online. I have it set up for both my physical and mailing addresses using separate emails.
