what should I do
hey how’s everybody doing ? so I gained my green card through my marriage which we are now divorced. It’s a two year conditional green card which expires on the 6 of June. I’m in the US military so I’m able to file my citizenship on my conditional green card. I filed my citizenship 02/27/23 and they extended my green card on the same day 02/27/23 to 24months . some how the notice was misplaced and I just found it back lastnight and realized my green card was extended but I didn’t know so I went ahead and filed my I-751 to remove the conditions on my green card. what do you think I should do given I was already granted the extension?

@Empress H I already filed for my citizenship that’s when they sent me the notices saying they extended my I-551 which would be my green card which would make me now a permanent resident . but I didn’t get the notice until lastnight which I filed a I-751 to remove conditions but they already did once I file my citizenship I just didn’t get the notice receipt so I’m wondering should I take back the i-751 since it was already approved

@Empress H yes hun . I filed my citizenship through the military but I didn’t know that it would also extend my green card and remove me from conditional to permanent. so I went ahead and still file a I-751 . so I’m wondering if I need to remove I-751 since they already removed it with what I filed with the military

@Lisa hunt did you file for citizenship before training or during training ?

@child of grace during training

you don’t need to file I-751 because you are actually serving during wartime which makes you automatically eligible for citizenship even if you are not a permanent resident. I suggest you call uscis service center and let them know you want to withdraw you I-751.

here is the easy way to speak to a representative: once you call 800-375-5283, and you hear how may I help you, just say: “infopass appointment”. It will directly send you to a live agent. Try and lmk in the reply
