What is the average timeline for i-131 (AP) and/or i-485 (AOS) approval after EAD approval?
Not sure how USCIS is supposed to approve cases. I was hoping to have combo card for EAD and AP approval but I didn’t. Now hoping to either have AP approved soon or AOS. As I am really in need to travel in urgency out of country. Anyone else with similar timeline and with PD from Nov 2022 ROW or around applied with Family? How are their timeline going? When to expect AP and/AOS to be approved? #timeline

If you have proof of urgency, apply for AP expedite. That might lead to outcome earlier.
what's the RFE for?
BL DJul 22, 2024
I have corporate law attorney who is handling my case. So should I send her all the information and proofs to apply for I-131 expedited? Is it going to delay my I-485 timeline?
RFE was for my birth Cerificate. That I already sent them but this time I sent them more information like details from USCIS website regarding what they are looking for on a birth certificate from that particular country and translation wordings.

My PD is Dec 2022 and I applied my package on Feb 9th
My spouse EAD and AP got approved in April on the same day and my EAD and AP got approved in June. Usually if your EAD is approved, your AP should be approved within a week.
you can reach out to congressman and ask them you would need to travel and request him to approve your I-131 only.
Charlie SCJul 22, 2024
@BL D You can expedite on your own as well. Once they request documents, then you can send them to USCIS. It will have no effect on I-485 adjudication
Am 12Jul 22, 2024
@Charlie SC how to expedite?
Charlie SCJul 22, 2024
@Am 12 Either by calling USCIS or congressman
BL DJul 23, 2024
@immu s thank you for the detailed information. I am not sure if i have access to those applications and files via online account. I did create one but all my cases were submitted and handled by my company Law firm. So is it better to ask to expedite it by providing them proofs or should I ask them to give me access and I should go to congressman to request to expedite it?
I hope that I will get my AP approved within a week without requesting to expedite it.
btw is your AOS also got approved? or still waiting?
BL DJul 23, 2024
@Charlie SC if my company’s law firm did all the submissions and handling the case, is it better to have them send the AP expedite request? Good to know that it won’t effect the I-485 and continue with its regular processing…
BL DJul 23, 2024
btw, my AP application never got updated with “finger prints were taken”. It still says “case was received” since submission. Is that normal?
Charlie SCJul 23, 2024
@BL D That is normal. Either you or the law firm can expedite. It will have same importance. Choose what's easy for you.

@BL D I applied for combo card in Mar 2024 for me & spouse and y'day I received my EAD. I asked emma chat and heard that I am supposed to receive AP separately. My I485 received date is 11/18/2021 still waiting for AoS.
Dharmesh JhaJul 23, 2024
My PD is Nov 2022, RD is Feb 12/2024 and I have not received any approvals (765,131,485). Case is still at NBC.
BL DJul 23, 2024
@Ven d what is your EB category? What is your PD? If it’s current from quite a while then you should probably send a request to USCIS to make decision on your AoS. As one of the members mentioned that you can take help from congressman who can write letter to USCIS if your processing time is way past the regular timeline…
BL DJul 23, 2024
@Dharmesh Jha your PD and RD is quite same as mine and i am EB2-1. I am sure you are too. So far we only received EAD for myself and dependents, nothing further. I requested my Attorney to submit expedited AP request as I need to travel in urgency.
Ven dJul 24, 2024
@BL D My PD:11/9/2011. RD:11/18/2021 India. So far I opened 5 CM requests but keep hearing from USCIS to wait to complete security checks. If I don't hear a positive response by Sep I am planning to file WOM.
Dharmesh JhaJul 24, 2024
@BL D yeah EB2-1 here as well. Well over 160 days of filing but no approvals. Last update is fingerprints were taken.
BL DJul 25, 2024
@Dharmesh Jha what’s your birth country and nationality? It could be the reason that Visa caps are being issued for particular countries even if they are part of ROW?
Dharmesh JhaJul 25, 2024
@BL D I am from Nepal. All we can do is assume. some people with PD and RD after me have got approvals. Never know with USCIS.
BL DJul 25, 2024
@Dharmesh Jha yea I guess there is no set timeline or standard followed by USCIS folks. Let’s see and wait and hope that the approval will come on time.
niranjan RaiJul 27, 2024
@Dharmesh Jha I am also from Nepal. looks like NBC is slow. my case was initially at Nebraska and my I-131 and I-765 got approved in 2 months but I-485 was transferred to NBC in April and nothing after that. PD oct 2022 and RD feb 2024.
Dharmesh JhaJul 27, 2024
@niranjan Rai Some cases at NBC have been approved sooner. I have seen case with notice number before and after my block approved at NBC. Hopefully we get approval soon. Fingers Crossed.
