what is prima facia and how to expedite the process?
still waiting for my answers, Can anyone explain how to expedite the process and what is prima facia? Not able to think of anything at the moment. Not able to do anything where my family needs me. It's making me a helpless person at the moment! any advice will be appreciated

This means they received and accepted your case. VAWA’s typically take 2 years, but I’ve seen other applicants getting approved sooner. It depends from case to case. Mine took 26-27 months.

yes @k m u are right @Arun it means u reached bare minimum of evidence for your case, unfortunately I don't think it can be expedited but u can speak more with your lawyer if u have one so if u have a prima facie in hand u can use it to get public assistance depending where u are residing u can also use it to apply for school/college etc.. I also have one that I got in February 2022. stay strong 💪

@ Arun for example u can go to the neighborhood food stamps or HRA office for public assistance and use the paper u have gotten to apply fill out a application to apply for food stamps, help with rent or whatever bills u have maybe get metro card to travel back and forth and get health insurance if u don't have insurance, and get cash assistance. and u can apply for college and use the prima facie letter in which ever school or college that will or should accept it to apply for financial aid. there is so much that you can use it for it depends on where u live like what state u in so u can Google to see what u can use it for in your state.

what's your timeline when did u apply and when did u get your prima facie. share your timeline.. I applied last year October did biometrics in February got prima facie last week in February 2022 then I did 1-485 and 1-765 1-131 in March 2022 and fingerprints are added to both forms so that's where I am at.. at Vermont location
