you EX will not know it, because you will recieve a letter or your lawyer will do, that hold in abeyance has been recieved and only you and your lawyer will have access to I 360 after approval which take 33 months now then I485 will change to interview or medical … I don’t think so your ex will keep teaching for 33 months also he cannot do anythingv

@haj thank you. did you actually receive an interview notice and request reschedule? or contact your local office that you filed Vawa?

@haj I’m not sure if we are on the same page. I understand that he won’t know anything about I360. I am talking about I485 that I filed with my ex during our marriage. He has the receipt number. did you also file change of lawyer for I485? or file I360 makes I485 and 130 confidential? I changed my lawyer for Vawa. I have no idea how this system works… thank you for your time

I understand you but if it’s what you can afford I will say file a new i485 because I filed a new one too, but my Vawa approved Dec 2022 so it changed to Fingerprint applied and I should receive it soon, but my old i485 I had to withdraw it in writing last month tho it’s still on interview scheduled so your EX can’t even have no more information other than tracking on your i485 because it won’t be under him or her no more

@Kenny Kenny thank you so much for your understanding and comment. I am sorry I had to file a new I485 and went through that. I thought using pending I485 under marriage could make me getting GC sooner and I didn’t want to pay for a new filing but it might look more risky. was it the reason you filed a new one? my ex is litigious. Do you mean you wrote a letter to withdraw your pending I485? to where? so USCIS will use your previous biometrics to I360 and a new I485? what’s gonna happen to my EAD c9 card that I got from marriage if I file a new I485? can I use it till the expiration date? sorry for asking many questions. it is so complicated…

I don’t think it’s complicated it’s just the wait that makes us feel that way because we are human 😂 and yes your new i485 gives you a Work Permit and Travel Parol too, and yes that’s why because she’s a stalker and a very craze “illegal fbi” lol that can search and find anything she wants to find. so yeah I did new i485 and even new i485 is now processed between 4-6 months because people get approved faster after getting i360. @Kenny Kenny haha, illegal fbi. lol I hear you. I prefer not to deal with having anxiety of he might find out. but I want to keep my current EAD c9 under marriage active. I guess it will be abandoned when I file a new I485… I hope you will get approval for your new I485 soon.

You don’t have to withdraw yet, you can file new i485 and after getting the ead approved on that then you can withdraw your old i485, but you can keep it as well he will only know if any changes on the case as such as approved and all, so he really can’t do nothing with it because if he calls they won’t honor it, he only has the right over i130

@Kenny Kenny thank you so much again. so I can keep two I485 (precious and new ones) if I want to, then withdraw the previous one if want to? but then your previous one keep under review with I130? there might be a chance you would get GC from marriage if there is no interview? if he cannot do anything with old I485, and he will only know such as approved, I might keep using old I485 under Vawa without filing a new one… I need to think about it. I just want to avoid he will know what’s going on with my old I485 so he will prevent my Vawa.

@skylar . Well if your only reason if him finding out your status, well he won’t know thing until you’re approved. And yeah I kept two i485 until I was approved Dec 2022 then I write a withdrawal letter for my old i485 tho it’s yet to be withdrawn by them so I’m keeping only the new one now and it’s on another fingerprint just awaiting my next step medical or interview…

@Kenny Kenny wait, so your old I485 didn’t get transfered to your Vawa because you did file a new I485 with Vawa? I’m getting confused. sorry about that. does filing a new I485 together with Vawa or after Vawa approval make any difference for how fast we get approval of I485?

Change him but to help you out, you can write a letter to cancel out your pending 485 , before you file vawa make sure you have a lot of evidence, you can summit your 360 and 485 together but since the wait is long you can leave your 485 , if USCIS do send you a notice for 485 for interview, you will go to the interview and tell them to hold in abeyance, so when your I 360 approve then USCIS Will schedule you again for a next interview hope you understand now

@call me Sam thank you, I think I do understand better now. I need to keep my EAD c9 that I already got from marriage so I think I cannot cancel out pending I485. I just want to know what the case status of the I485 says after being transfered to Vawa and if it would give any cues for ex to find out about Vawa.

@skylar When you switch your old I-485 to Vawa there is no updates online. For example, I got interview scheduled for my I-485 based on marriage. When I switched to Vawa, my online status is still the same, “we scheduled you for an interview.

could be an update when you I-485 is approved, but since vawa is protected low, your ex will not be able to get any information about your case

I had 2, but I continued to use my C9 one. if you have other specific questions, I'll be glad to help. I got my GC last week, so I know the process until the end.
