• Form I-864: This is called the Affidavit of Support. It’s a longer form. You use it when you are sponsoring someone (like your wife or family member) to come live in the U.S. You show the government that you make enough money and you promise to support that person. • Form I-864EZ: This is a shorter, easier version of the I-864. You can use it if: • You are sponsoring only one person (not a whole family), • You only have one job (simple income, not business income), • You don’t have to combine your income with anyone else’s (like your spouse). In short: • I-864 = full version, for more complicated cases. • I-864EZ = simple version, for easy cases
