What date must be current to receive the NVC appointment letter?
Hi, I am waiting for the nvc to schedule my consular interview.
When the nvc notified me that my case was documentarily qualified, a part of the email said this:
"before applicants in a numerically limited (preference) visa category can receive an appointment, THEIR PRIORITY DATE MUST ALSO BE CURRENT. This can delay receipt of an appointment"
My question is, which of the two dates must be current to receive the appointment letter? the filling date or the final action date?
i am an eb3 applicant (EW) outside the US, and my interview will be at bogota embassy
Priority date: 13 april 2022

I heard if you are in the USA, you should look into final action date, otherwise filing date

Every month is different sometimes its filing date or final action date. Normally for NVC they used the filing date and USCIS uses the final action date. However in determining the availability of the visa lies on the final action date. You can file on the NVC if your PD is current but you have to wait for your PD to be current before they can schedule an interview.
