I’m having the same problem mine about to expire I’m so worried

You should of gotten a mail extension letter by now that is good for 180 days after the expiration date of your current EAD ? Like a reciept number ? You can present that to your employer and DMV as a proof that you are eligible to work and if you need to renew your drivers license ?

I just renewed mine and it’s free if you have I-485 pending, they’ll send you an extension letter and mail your card in 2 months and the ead would be for 5 years

@Bella kok my license expired already when renewing EAD card LOL and i went to DMV bring my renewal reciept and ead card n i-485 license n they gave me 4 months license 😵‍💫😵‍💫

@shine beauty, please what date did you submit your EAD because mine will expire in April 24th and I submitted my i765 for renewal in December 28th but they got it on January 9th and they said I don’t have to pay for renewal. pls kindly advise

@Kenneth Ugo when you renewed did you get a receipt notice for extension? if yes please how long did it take for you to receive it. I renewed mine on the 5th of JAN and they received on the 8th, I have not received my receipt notice and I'm about to loose my job.

@Dee Ede, i did not receive a notice but i called uscis and they me that my pending i485 is under the category of c9 and i do not need a letter from uscis because its automatic extension for 180 days. when you login into uscis website u will see it there. You can call uscis yourself to be sure.

@Kenneth Ugo did your job accept when you told them that.My job is insisting that I need that receipt notice ro show proof of extension and I'm currently on unpaid leave.

@Dee Ede, my own EAD is still valid but will expire in April. I pray mine EAD comes before my expiration date.

@Dee Ede, I can’t remember if I got the notice letter from uscis but I will check when get home but I got my receipt number from the agent over the phone.

@Kenneth Ugo I don't have a receipt number. I called uscis but they won't give me any information because it's under VAWA.

@Dee Ede, your case is VAWA. I have a friend that’s doing VAWA, don’t worry they automatically send you your EAD for sure because it’s expired.

@Kenneth Ugo I submitted a month before it expired in October I got a notice and I used it to extend my drivers license and I got my 5 years ead last month

@shine beauty I submitted on the 9th of January 2024 and got a notice on the 20th. how many months did you get on your drivers license and are u in Texas.

@Kenneth Ugo I got the 540 day extension,that was before the 180 day bill passed but you probably got the 180 day extension and yes adjustment by marriage and I’m self employed

@Kenneth Ugo I got a year and few months on my license but I updated it when I got my ead and I’m in the dmv

@shine beauty this uscis is taking too long to make their decision but we have to put our finger crossed and hope for the best. Hopefully we get goods before the end of the year.
