Waiting on i485 approval
I am getting so worried as our i485 is still pending. We will be out of normal processing times as of next week. As EAD extension is also taking it‘s time, I will loose my job by February 22nd if neither i485 has been approved or EAD has been extended.
I reached out to our congressman yesterday to see if they can help 😭
Anyone with a similar timeline who can give me hope?

I forfeited my EAD, waiting that my I-485 case would be approved after RFE Response. Has been waiting for 4.5 months after USCIS got RFE Response.
So I can wish you only good luck and patience!

Because it cost about 500 USD, that's why. In the case if the I-485 is approved soon, why to pay extra money?

Wow Sara Bee, sorry to hear that. Your congressman or senator can definitely bring some attention to your case, when you wrote to him, did you ask him about your I-485 or you spoke specifically on the EAD (I-765)?

Oh okay Ulvi, I think I get what you are saying. You didn't file the I-485 and the I-765 at the same time? if so, ok understand you now. The thing is though, you run a slight risk there, because you don't know when the I-485 will be approved.

pls check if you have applied for 485 before expiry then you can use your i94 for the extended validity

@Rehan: February 22nd is already including the 180 days “grace period”. The EAD expired in August (but we did file for extension before just in case, which was good).
@Uros: The RFE was for our medical (as expected), which we handed in right away.

@Rehan: No, you don’t have to do that. They will request it when they need it (usually it’s one of the last things in the process). it used to be only valid for two years (they changed that last fall) so it wasn’t advised to send it in before they request it because in case of the medical being older than two years you would need to do it again (and pay for it).
Biometrocs were done around 8 weeks after we filed (in August of 2020) so around 1.5 years ago.
