well from what I read online and in a Reddit thread, In few weeks I can schedule an infopass appointment to get an I-551 stamp in my passport that will serve as both work authorization as well as re-entry permit. It seems getting the appointment might trigger production of Green Card

it can take up to 60 days to receive the card. i think you, like many people, will receive the gc within 4 weeks.

what did you do that for? that’s for only employer to verify your work authorization, if I’m not mistaken. what does that have anything to do with your green card?

When your I-485 is approved your Alien registration number is updated to show that you now have work authorization. The E-Verify system has a self check option that lets use see if your SSN is misused and if an employer were to submit I-9 whether it would get approved. After submitting my SSN, A number etc. the system said that my self check was successful. Since my EAD never got approved and instead I got 485 directly I wanted to see if my A number was updated.

Not that I currently plan to engage in self employment etc. but was curious
