Waiting can be tough
I wish I found this community sooner because reading the posts makes me feel less alone.
My journey started in 2021. My husband and I started filling on Nov 24,2021. The work permit came fairly quickly around February 2022 and then the long wait began. Finally, a year later in March 2023 we got the medical RFE and a letter stating our interview was waived. We responded to the RFE right away and then the I-130 got approved on May 3rd 2023.
We have been waiting since May 6 2023 for the I-485 to get approved. Our lawyers are say it’s just a waiting game at this point on till it is outside of “normal processing times”.
My twin sister is getting married on 11/23/23 in Nigeria I won’t be able to attend it since I can travel back home and return ☹️.
This has been THE most trying time of my life and I am still hoping on God for a miracle.

please try to apply for 131 and expedite to be at the wedding. sometimes they deny the 131 expedite but it gets them to look at your 485 which is the real goal. wishing you good luck!!!

@Empress H I got a travel document in October 2022 that expired this year October 2023. it is currently being renewed but the lawyers say that takes forever!
