That’s a thought question. If you haven’t had your interview and your EAD was approved, I would suggest you to start working before they call you for an interview. Many will say that you are not obligated to work for your sponsor until you get your green card, but nobody can read the officer’s mind at the time of the interview. He may think you have a bad faith and deny your case, based on fraud (according only to his thoughts on the interview day). Which will cause you a big headache.. But this is MY OPINION. Things are already not easy for EB3 applicants and we don’t know what is going on. I (myself) would play by the book IF the sponsor requested you to start to work and your EAD is already approved and you haven’t had your interview, MY belief is that this is the safer option for you right now.

Expalining more, this is my experience: I had my interview before my EAD was approved. It was awlful.. It took me more than 40 minutes and the agent asked me many times if I would really start to work after my EAD was approved.. He asked many questions.. many more than my friends that had the interview and had started to work for the sponsor before their interviews… After my interview my EAD was approved and I started to work for my sponsor, changed my address to the city which my sponsor was located, and only more than a year after my interview was completed my status changed from: “interview was completed and the case must be reviewed” to “case remains pending”… My PD is June 2021.. I’m still working for my sponsor.. and I’m (at least) feeling comfortable now that my status changed to “case remains pending”…
