If it’s only the replacement of a card you lost you can get a stamp in your passport that says you are a Greencard holder.

If you are already a Greencard holder bit lost your card and requested a replacement that you are waiting for, you can get an I-551 as temporary evidence. You get it at local USCIS offices.

No idea, we are waiting on our first one, so no help here. But I know it takes months, hence that stamp (otherwise that wouldn’t be needed if a replacement could just be sent).

That’s unfortunately how it is with USCIS at the moment. get the stamp that will help for the time being and just apply for the new one once the time comes.

if your card was almost expired anyway it potentially would have been smart to wait. but sure if the new card might renew the expiration period though?
