VAWA Pending Since 2022 – Filed Mandamus Lawsuit, Still Waiting for USCIS to Move My Case
I’m wondering if anyone here has been through something similar or has experience with a mandamus lawsuit for a delayed VAWA case. My timeline: * June 8, 2021: I-485 filed. * February 9, 2022: I-360 (VAWA) filed. * February 20, 2026: Received an RFE for my I-360. * April 8, 2026: USCIS received my RFE response. * June 2026: Congressional inquiry indicated my case was being transferred to NBC. * September 16, 2026: Filed a federal mandamus/APA lawsuit in the Eastern District of California. * September 30–October 6, 2026: Government defendants served. * October 15, 2026: Assistant U.S. Attorney assigned to my lawsuit contacted me regarding an address/jurisdiction discrepancy preventing USCIS from moving my file to the appropriate office. * October 28, 2026: Government attorney advised there was still no update and asked me to give USCIS more time. I’ve made multiple congressional inquiries, submitted address changes, and contacted USCIS numerous times. My I-485 address is updated, but USCIS still seems to have conflicting internal records. It’s frustrating that even after filing a federal lawsuit, USCIS apparently hasn’t been able to get my file to the correct processing office. Has anyone filed mandamus for a VAWA case and experienced something similar? How long did it take after the government attorney became involved for USCIS to actually move or adjudicate your case? Did your case eventually get approved, or did the government file a motion to dismiss? Would appreciate hearing about anyone’s experience or suggestions. #vawa #i360 #mandamus #lawsuit #Combointerview

interesting how a fake profile on Facebook by someone named Megan Lopez posted the exact same post. Word for word.
