@jhene d No that insanely high. I paid 3k. My lawyer transferred my marriage based I485 to my VAWA. you can continue using your marriage based EAD.

yes! she is based in LA. Susanne Cipolla. She is pretty direct and straight forward but she does a good job. her law firm is called: Olmos & Reynolds. They are specified in immigration law.

my lawyer was only charging $500 for vawa but I only consulted them which was $50 every visit. my spouse refused to go to my interview with me and I didnt know to take a written request to hold my i485 so I had to file everything all over again. i360, i765, i485 & i131. I did file a waiver to have the fees waved which they approved as I was not making any money my work permit that I already had was not affected. however I needed to refile another to count for the vawa which is the 2 years I have now. I honestly have no recommendations for lawyers as I doubt mine is in the same state as you and they only do in state I think as they are very small
