I will be going to Minnesota this July and I’m kinda worried about it

@mo Ali how did you get the real ID without a green card? what state do you live in?

@Jesus baby u do not need green card to get real id, he already have work permit that allow him to get real id.

once you have a pending case you can get a real id or DL. once you have a pending case that mean your have legal presence in the state

guys the main question is traveling domestically

same thing I got it real id so what about flying and if I get stopped by ice is that risky or not who had the experience?

In Washington state you can't get a real ID; not all states issue them.

in nyc they won’t give u a real id with just a pending case

no body replies me if I can travel safe or not or if I got stopped by ice there is problems or not who had this experience?

@mo Ali I have just permit travel and I go to Brazil 2 times per year. So I think it’s safe!

I live in Texas and got a real Id with my work permit. I also travel at least 2 times in a month due to job requirements and never had issues.

@Unique Bae my work permit is expired, I’ve submitted a renewal since last year February and up until now no updates, all I got was the receipt note, I even lost my job because they said they couldn’t verify my employment status anymore and I need to submit the new permit otherwise the employment will be terminated, which it was….. new EAD still spending for a year and 4 months now

@Jesus baby they should accept receipt notice… I took my work permit, social security, my regular drivers license, my passport and 2 utility bills

according to a new memorandum all vawa applicants are protected from arrest and detention by the law . you should just carry your documents with you.

@Jesus baby You will need to have a valid EAD to get the real ID and what class of EAD did you request for is it C09 or C31?

@Mili Carrillo was your permit expired?

I travelled in May with my real ID no issues at all

@Unique Bae my initial expired EAD of 2 years was under C09, same with the renewal…

@Unique Bae no I had just received it after about 9 months of sending the renewal application
