Hello Friends. I came to USA in 2021 on k1 visa and got married after 5 months. I later file for VAWA along with my I485 but my lawyer is asking me to leave the US in order for my case to get approve faster. Should I travel outside the US or not? and I was able to get my work permit and advance parole and the green card process is on going but he said it requires me traveling out of the US and coming back.

I think you should seek advice from atleast 2 or 3 more lawyers but certainly your current lawyer is wrong and I have zero confidence in his/her ability, you should consider getting a New lawyer to save your self heartache in the future. Delays are caused by backlogs, you traveling out of the country will only increases your wait time

ask other lawyers opinion I think as long as you fulfilled the K1 by getting married you’re fine not to leave the country. what documents did you submit for your vawa did you include psychological evaluation, police report, pictures , text messages, affidavit letters etc
