VAWA Case – 35 Months Pending, No Updates
Hi everyone, I’m looking for insight and support from others in the same boat.
I’ve been waiting 35 months since filing my VAWA case. My case status still shows “Case was received”, and there have been no updates, no RFE and no decisions yet.
In the meantime, I’ve received multiple Prima Facie Determinations, and my Work Authorization (EAD) and Advance Parole have both been renewed recently.
Is this delay normal at this stage?
Should we take it as a neutral or good sign that there’s been no RFE or denial after so long?
I’ve seen others mention 35–40 month wait. Is this becoming the norm for VAWA now?
Would love to hear from anyone who has passed this stage or is in a similar situation.

mine is 39 months ,I’ve renewed my work permit and AP .i have received 6 PF and the last one will expire by august ,I’m still waiting for my approval

I filed June2021, i was approved August 2024… Got about 4 PF. No RFE sent.

the only thing I say to you,I’m in 32 months only 3 primas facie but i don’t have n parole,they already give
to you almost everything,keep your faith,your time it’s coming in couples months.

same boat with you dear I filed August 2022 so it’s been 33 months now with 6 prima facies and recently renewed my ead as well,hopefully in the next few months we should hear something from them or make an inquiry but for now we’re expected to wait a bit longer…take it easy the journey is almost over by Gods grace.🙏🏽

@bradok Brandon the last RFE came last October when I requested to experdite my case and the RFE was because my lawyer made a date mistake and so the needed me to clarify it and some few things was added to it.

@Gods daughter ❤️ chat how long did it take before they approved your EAD renewal I filed my vawa in July 2022, sent my EAD renewal in July 2024 and I haven’t gotten my renewal till now I’m just curious thanks in advance

I reapplied for renewal in September 2024 cause my ead was expiring February 2025 I got an approval by the end of February 2025. so that was a bit over 6 months
do you have a lawyer maaybe she could make an inquiry on your behalf.

@Gods daughter ❤️ chat yes I have a lawyer but because I couldn’t afford the fee she was charging for renewal and went ahead to file myself she has refused to get involved because she wasn’t the one who filed it for…..but I’m hopeful that God will intervene
