VAWA biometrics updates
Hello! I filed for the whole VAWA package in February 2021, I did my biometrics on August 2nd, but, when checking the status of my cases, they all still show the same - Case was received in February. It’s been 3,5 months since biometrics. Is it supposed to not update my case status online to Fingerprints received? Or is that an error and I should find out why it has been stuck at the same message? My attorney did mention in the beginning that I would not be able to see the case status updates because of the confidentiality of VAWA. The physical address is set to his office & he always informs me if he receives anything. But is that really how it is & I cannot see the real status online? I’m just in desperate need of EAD and want to address this if that’s an error. #vawa #ead #biometrics #fingerprints #case #status

my question is , did u sure he file for 765 for u , not 765v , bec that one comes after approval of your 360, once u re sure he file 765 for u , it will come b4 expiration of your receipt

It was I-756 together with I-485 and I-360. All were filed together and the receipts came in week later and they say my cases were received on February 25th. No EAD yet. I asked my attorney to expedite my EAD in September as I’m experiencing financial hardship. My previous work permit expired in February, I got suspended at work and terminated in August since I continuously couldn’t provide my work permit. And I live alone, have no family here, just whatever help I can get from abroad to get by and to not have to live in a shelter. I still haven’t heard anything back about my EAD since September, so I assume my expedition might have been denied. But is that right that I’m not supposed to receive any updates online? Says nothing about biometrics online, no updates at all, just that it’s received, even though I did receive a biometrics request letter from my attorney that he received via mail from uscis back in July and finished the biometrics in August.

Lily Rose - there’s no guarantee. The backlogs have doubled so it definitely a longer wait for work permits.

And when did you do your biometrics?

first thing first, the 5 months rule doesn’t apply anymore for Vawa cases now it’s 9 months plus before you get EAD you can check the timeline online yourself and for the fingerprints they only apply it on case to case bases…some do get it applied to their i765 and while some get it applied to their i360 and i765 which is what happened in my case 9 months ago and I’m still waiting for my ead. however, if the lawyer filed i765v you have to wait till your i360 is approved before you can get your ead

@gaff vee, yeah, the processing times increased up to 14 months at one point, but they went back down to up to 11.5 months after a while. I received my ead after 9.5 months of waiting, and I did receive updates of the card being processed and mailed to me. But not the updates of biometrics. In case someone else has the same question. Fingers crossed you get your ead soon! it’s about that time 🤞
