VAWA-based I-485 interview,
During my VAWA-based I-485 interview, the officer asked me who I attended my tourist visa interview with. I honestly told the officer that I attended the visa interview with my first ex-husband and that we received our tourist visas together. I did not hide that fact.
The officer then told me that my first ex-husband and I entered the United States on the same day and through the same travel route. I honestly answered that I did not know he had entered on the same day or through the same route as I did. I traveled by myself and consistently gave the same answer throughout the interview.
The interview then continued with questions about my children, taxes, and unauthorized employment before my work authorization. At the end, I was told that background checks could take longer than 120 days, and I was not given an RFE, NOID, or any other notice.
My question is: From a USCIS adjudication standpoint, how significant is this fact? Can the fact that my first ex-husband and I entered the U.S. on the same day and through the same travel route, by itself, have a major impact on the outcome of my VAWA-based I-485 application if there is no direct evidence that I knew about his travel plans? Or is this generally just one factor that USCIS considers together with the entire record? Vawa approved
