VAWA Applicant Stopped from Boarding at Doha Airport
Hi everyone,
I’m hoping to get some guidance or hear from anyone who has experienced something similar.
I originally came to the U.S. on an F-1 student visa. Unfortunately, my university lost its accreditation, which caused me to fall out of status. I remained out of status for over two years before marrying a U.S. citizen. After that, I filed a VAWA-based immigration case with the help of my attorney and was approved for a combo card (Employment Authorization and Advance Parole), which is currently valid until 2029.
Last year, I traveled to India to take care of my parents and returned without any issues using the same travel document.
However, during my most recent trip, I was stopped at Doha Airport because the airline received a “No Board” message and I was not allowed to board my flight to the United States. I was not given any clear explanation for why this happened.
I have no criminal record, I have been filing and paying my taxes, and as far as I know, nothing has changed with my case. Unfortunately, my attorney has been unresponsive, so I’m trying to understand what may have happened and what steps I should take next.
Has anyone experienced a similar situation or knows what could trigger a “No Board” message? Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your help.
