Vawa and Green Card
Hello everyone,
I am confused about the processing times for Vawa and Green Card . I filled for Vawa concurrently with Employment authorization and Green Card last year and I added my children with my application but their names are not listed in the Vawa application. Do my children have to wait 3 years to get their Green Card approved or it is just only me that have to wait 3 years ? And how long does Green card approval take

Are they in the U.S.? If so, they will receive employment authorization and SSN once you apply for them, as they also qualify while your GC is pending. If they are abroad, they have to wait until you get your GC so they can apply for I-824 to join your resident status.

my kids are listed as derivatives on my I360 from my understanding when I receive my green card I then file for I824 for them to receive their green card they are in another country. I360 alone takes 3-4 years on average to get approved then approximately another 6-12months for I485 to be approved.

@God is good they are in the US with me. Do they have to wait for me to get my GC before they get theirs ?

@Rapheal duo yes! they have to wait until you get your GC. but they have the “right” to have the same status as you. so if you get the work permit you can apply for theirs

I have the same problem my daughter is in my country I am waiting approval soon i360, after that i have to apply I-824 for her
