i think once you inject Vawa they will issue a denial on his first case and he will move on with the new application of VAWA. He has started the new process all over again. I am not an attorney, but what i heard for people who have done that before. I could be wrong.

I’m still waiting on my ead since February, also Vermont and vawa related. But I noticed here by reading the comments they often process the newer ones faster.

Leo, no, we can request to hold our 485 till the decide on Vawa. I W, my case just recently moved to Vermont i guess better i wait. they are not delaying EADs on purpose. they have few people to work and too many cases to handle. thanks

Not saying on purpose, just saying don’t give your hopes up just because someone has been waiting longer. Your friend can still be lucky to receive it faster. Good luck!

Yes, I’m a vawa filler, but I filed a new set of documents all in February and all in Vermont. My original I-485 got denied in December 2020 because my spouse withdrew his sponsorship petition after I left him due to abuse. So I had no way of using the same application. I received all 3 receipts about a week after my lawyer submitted my case. Had my biometrics done in August. And then the weirdest thing was Prima Facie, my lawyer received it in September, but it was dated May. Prima Facie allowed me to apply for public benefits.
