@Naomi N If you have valid EAD and Advance Parole, you can come back. Or do you want i485 consular processing from home country, if vawa gets approved in future?

@H n I have valid AP, as my lawyer told me I can do consular processing from my home country, but as I know my 485 has to close in USA . and transfer to NVC new one something like that

@Naomi N Once your VAWA is approved, your attorney will file Form I-824 to switch from the I-485 (adjustment of status) to consular processing through the NVC. This starts your Immigrant Visa (IV) case. The timeline, I guess, is usually similar to what I-485 processing takes these days.

I'm so sorry the wait had been long for you..for many many of us too. Every night I lay in bed thinking how such a vulnerable population has been left in the wait for such a long time. Then I also remember people that are trying to scam the system... positives being able to work and travel while we wait... getting some govt benefits... I try to count my blessings and not wallow too much about everything else. Most nights I go to sleep sad/ depressed/ worried but I try to convince myself that things will eventually work out. Make sure you follow up with the consular processes and don't give up. Especially if you have children fight for them. If you still have your EAD search for online jobs you can do remotely. Don't give up. I keep asking if there's no way to appeal the VAWA wait times in general. In a short time it's doubled. CSI Miami might be a movie series but they're still faster than these ongoing "VAWA investigations".
