@Hanny G thank u, I filed a missing search request with USPS today but I have a feeling they are just gonna lie and say they delivered it cuz on the tracking page it shows as delivered to my lawyers office
Dana sAug 22, 2023
thank u @Hanny G
Jennie .Aug 22, 2023
@Dana s pls go back to your Lawyer & let him/her look very well for your card. USCIS uses Express Priority mail to deliver. U see, that is why I use my address to receive every immigration document o, no joke.
Dana sAug 22, 2023
@JENNIE . I’m gonna go directly to his office and ask him face to face as well as to see any video of the day it said it got delivered, it’s so weird because uscis sends notices to my address however the cards such as the EAD, travel document were always sent to his address, i actually fired him from being my lawyer last year but uscis was still sending important documentation to his address even now. At the interview I requested the card to be sent to my address, when I looked at the tracking information it said it was delivered to his office zip code smh I just cannot believe this I’m looking at the time to file a I-90 for lost greencard and it says 13 months :(

@Dana s U should have used your address, I don't know for what reason U should use your lawyer's address.
Ice CreamAug 22, 2023
@Dana s you should have revoked G-28 form once you terminated the legal relationship with the lawyer. So usps didn't lose your gc, it was delivered to the lawyer you fired.
Also uscis sends several copies of notices, attorney copy to the lawyer, customer copy to you.
Ice CreamAug 22, 2023
@JENNIE . some lawyers insist on using their address. My lawyer was like that, told me "You will move and it's a hassle to change the address. I will use my mailing address". That way lawyers can also charge you additional money for using their address. 🤑🤑🤑
so once I fired her, I also revoked G-28 form and uscis sent gc directly to me.
Dana sAug 22, 2023
@Ice Cream so what can I do legally?
Dana sAug 22, 2023
@Ice Cream should I get the police involved?
Dana sAug 22, 2023
I didn’t know anything about a g-28 form @Ice Cream
Ice CreamAug 22, 2023
did you ask you ex lawyer if they received your gc?
Dana sAug 22, 2023
I did and they said “they didn’t receive anything and if they did they would have sent me an email” @Ice Cream I just don’t know why they would keep it though because when the other documents came they sent it to me even after I had fired them
Ice CreamAug 22, 2023
well, you need to work in both directions: your ex lawyer and usps. First, verify gc was actually delivered to the lawyer. Either with usps but they probably can't give you the delivery address, or you can also call uscis and ask them to which address they sent the card. Where did you get the tracking number? when you call uscis, they ask you to verify your info, what address do they on file for you? Before I revoked G-28, I had to give my lawyer's mailing address to verify my info; after I informed uscis I withdrew the representation, I was using my own address, because that's what they had on file.
if your card really was delivered to lawyers office, he/she still has the legal responsibility to protect the clients interests, thats why they were forwarding the correspondence to you after termination of legal relationship. read here https://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/how-to-go-about-firing-your-immigration-lawyer.html

definitely no need for the police yet. It might be as simple as your lawyers staff didn't go through the mail yet. For example, when i received rfe for medical, my ex lawyer forwarded me the copy they received only a week later. Because their office is a mess and because they don't check their mailbox every day.
What is the delivery date of your card? I got approved on aug 3, gc was delivered to me on aug 10. If your timeline is similar, then by now even a messy lawyer should have gone through their mail.

I’d give it a couple days. USPS notoriously says they delivered stuff and they didn’t, but then they do a few days later. give it a couple days before you lose your mind. good luck
Dana sAug 22, 2023
app said card was produced august 8 and delivered to lawyers office zip code august 10, so in total it’s been almost two weeks and nothing @Ice Cream
Dana sAug 22, 2023
lol I’m already losing it it’s been almost two weeks since the card was delivered I think something is going on 😭 @w s
Dana sAug 22, 2023
I got the tracking number through lawfully app, I still haven’t received the official notice that my case was approved, my case was approved august 4 by the way thank you so much for taking time out to help me out @Ice Cream
Ice CreamAug 22, 2023
yep, no problem. so tomorrow call uscis and verify the address where they sent the card. If it's the lawyers address, then they received both the official approval notice and the physical card. once you know for sure that they received it, ask them nicely but firmly to give you the card. It legally belongs to you. Read this post:
