USCIS Agent false hope; Succesful Interview
Hope you’re all well and blessed. I had my i130 and i485 interview back in the beginning of May. I130 got approved the next day. USCIS agent said we would get my spouse’s green card by mid-June. Nothing yet, not even the i485 approval. Question is, has anyone else been told by the USCIS agent that you were going to be recommended for approval and receive your green card in a couple of weeks and nothing yet? Thank you.

The exact same thing happened to me. My interview went really well, and my I-130 was approved the same day. The officer told me I would be approved within 4–6 weeks, or 8 weeks at the latest. She even said they wouldn't approve my work permit because I would receive my green card before then. Now I'm still waiting for my green card, and I don't even have work authorization. 😔

Thank God my wife and I are not crazy. The agent told us the same thing, that because the green card would arrive in a couple of weeks, the work authorization and travel authorization document would be moot. I contacted my state’s US Senator to inquire with USCIS on our behalf.

I also contacted my senator last week, a little over 60 days after my interview. Usually, people say you should only reach out once your case is outside the normal processing time or 120 days after the interview, but I wasn't given any paper at my interview mentioning the 120 day timeframe. I noticed your interview was in May too, so it sounds like you contacted your senator at about the same point I did. I still haven't heard back from my senator about whether they're going to move forward with helping me, considering it's been "only" about 60 days since my interview. Has your senator responded to you yet? thank you.

in the same boat. i had mine in june. they told me will be approved by 30days, now thats passed. how are you all passing? should I inquire with senator as well?

I actually called the senator’s office today and I already have a representative on my case. When I called last week on Tuesday, the secretary told me that the senator’s office had already sent my release form (signed by my wife as she’s the owner of the application technically) to USCIS and that USCIS had received it. The senator’s representative was apparently in a meeting today so I left a voicemail. If I had to leave all of you with one piece of advice is contact your Senator and be persistent! email them the signed release form and call them to make sure they received. Call them and be a pain in the a basically. I’ll update you all if I get some good news or any news.
