US Government filing motions to have I-601A Mandamus cases dismissed I601A
The US government has held up the class action case from Immpact that many here were encouraged to pay $1,000 for, as the government filed a request to have the entire case dismissed. USCIS's claim is that all the plaintiffs included in that Immpact lawsuit have cases that are within the current "normal processing times".
As of last month, more than 10,000 people had filed Writ of Mandamus lawsuits to try and have their I-601A and other cases processed faster. I have read that the US government has begun filing requests to have some of those mandamus cases dismissed, again claiming that the Writ of Mandamus is not valid, since the cases involved are still within the normal stated processing times (currently 44 months for I-601A).
We were about to file a mandamus as our I-601A case has a receipt date of August, 2020, but our lawyer charges $8,000 to file. I don't want to spend that kind of money if USCIS is just going to work to have it dismissed and the only answer is to continue waiting for them to process the case. @billy Bob, save your money, 601a got worse under this administration, it's not a priority for them, that 44 months will go up soon.

I did filed mandamus with other lawyer my former lawyer was asking 10k I paid 3 k I sent mine June 9 hopefully I hear something I’m from may 2020

my mandamus worked for worst, it’s been 5 months since file mandamus and nothing , they transfer for worst office to worster ! (from Nebraska to Potomac ) I rether have my case in Nebraska 🤦🏼♂️

@Darden Fl I am sure there is something wrong with your case. since you don't get anything from your lawyer....if you have you mandamus Civil action number or case number you check the status of it in PACER....you may need to spend 2 or 3 dlr for that

I know , the whole system is wrong ! no the mandamus my lawyer file and it’s says they transfer from one office to another that’s it , lawyer don’t have any recept number he said need to wait that’s all !

@Darden Fl dis your lawyers give you copy of your mandamus ? mine did sent June 9 th and government have to answer in 60 days did you have copy of what the government said ? or just what the lawyer said ? I don’t trust lawyers I had 3 already since they not do what they said

no did not , but based on what I se here everyone who file mandamus they case got transfer , so that’s what hapend to me , that make me belive he did file mandamus ! it’s been a month since they transfer ! I’m going next week to lawyers office I will ask directly

@Billy Bob I filed a writ of mandamus with my lawyer for $2.5k. My I-601A was succefully adjucated within 15 days. I already completed Consular Processing and received my LPR card about a month ago. My I-601A receipt date was March 31, 2020.

@Darden Fl well I filed mandamus and mine didn't got transfer. instead I got worst I guess. I got a reply from state attorney that they did file the motion to dismiss. now I have to fight against it and for doing that 1 layer told me $7500.
I dont have that kind of money. I am waiting for 2 other lawyers to know how much they gonna charge me....this all really sucks😔
