US Citizen (Me) DQ Jan-12-2024 Waiting for Wife’s Interview (Marriage Visa)
salam, hope u guys are all doing well. DQ date January-12-2024, waiting for my wife’s (yemenia, we have no kids yet) interview letter from Djibouti embassy. reading posts and sounds like a big backlog. how long should I suspect until getting her interview letter and date?
all my documents are legit but still worried about this process taking longer….
is there any way I can avoid administrative processing or having to do this form? does having a kid or her being pregnant actually lessen the chances of that happening?
wishing you all the best

Eid Mubarak, I’d start looking in November for an appointment unless things speed up. As long as your docs are organized and correct it seems pretty simple, you just want to stay organized. A few people below shared their experience. My DQ is June 22 and appointment is coming anytime. In the process I had a son. So I’ll let you know exactly how it goes plus surely others here will.

@r s do you have any information about getting a slip after interview for a background check or administrative processing? and any way to avoid it?

@Sal Sanaa, Yemen alayna wa alayk my brother. inshallah your interview comes soon! I got tons of evidence and documents organized in a binder myself. I’ve put a lot of time into having things correct bro. I’ve just been worried about the extra administrative processing taking place. my friend had his wife’s interview last October 2023 and they got the extra form for background check. they still haven’t gotten called back to Djibouti yet. it’s almost 6 months since interview. he said maybe cuz they didn’t have a child yet… is why they got the slip. is this true? have you heard about anyone going through this?

@Mh G really appreciate your input and hope everything works out for the best. was AP for wife or husband? did they have any prior travel history outside of Yemen?

@Montana sorry to hear about this.its so frustrating. inshallah you get approved soon. was AP for a wife or husband? did they have any prior travel history outside of Yemen?

Sorry to hear that to all of those people that happened to. Yea from what I have seen and watched, the only thing that is certain is uncertainty smh. I’ve seen a lot of stories and none hold any pattern tbh. All you can do is your best. That’s good you organized it at least leaves you the best chance. These people leave the border open and millions coming illegally and then sit there and put people like us through hell. Shame on them. Good luck to you once your date comes.

Mh GApr 19, 2024
@Ali A no he got ap one month ago. People have been in ap for 6 months and more

I would recommend not to travel anywhere. Cuz i think one of the reasons for my husband ap was cuz he traveled
