Uploading 2025 joint tax return as unsolicited evidence while NOID response is pending — good or bad idea?
Hi everyone, I’m currently waiting on USCIS to review my NOID response for an I-130. The NOID response was already submitted and acknowledged, and there’s no new RFE or action requested at this time. We’ve now filed our 2025 joint federal tax return, and I’m wondering if it’s a good idea to upload it as unsolicited evidence to show continued bona fide marriage, or if it’s better to leave the case alone while it’s under review. For those who’ve been through NOIDs or extended reviews: Did you upload updated joint tax returns while waiting? Did it help, hurt, or make no difference? Any risk of slowing things down or reopening review? Looking for real experiences — especially from people who had heavy scrutiny or NOIDs. Thanks in advance.

I uploaded my tax return after my case was sitting doing nothing for over a year. I was approved 4 months later but no idea if it impacted my case or not since we had kids. I don’t think it can hurt unless the income shown for the petitioner doesn’t cover the minimum requirements.

Unsolicited evidence for USCIS is any supporting documentation submitted voluntarily before a final decision, often through the "Unsolicited Evidence" tab in an online account. It can speed up processing or clarify cases, but may also risk confusing officers, often recommended only for crucial updates like new joint documents or address changes. Key Aspects of Unsolicited Evidence: When to Submit: Applicants can submit additional evidence at any time until a decision is made, particularly useful for proving ongoing, bona fide relationships. pls go ahead! you have nothing to lose and everything to gain by uploading your current joint taxes !
