Upgraded Petition
Helo everyone.
My husband filed for me while he was still LPR last July 2023. My I-130 was approved October 2023 and husband naturalizes November 2023. We sent the naturalization certificate copy to USCIS and requested for my petition to be upgraded from green card holder spouse to US citizen spouse immediately. We haven’t heard from them since then. How will I know my petition was upgraded? Anyone here had same experience?

hi @lina reyes I am in same situation as well.. we updated as well on February 2024 and we haven’t heard anything from USCIS and even we not sure that they upgraded our case or not because they never update that they receive our paperwork regarding to update.case status.. Its so frustrating seriously

we are in the same situation, upgraded back in May 2024 & received a receipt number july 2024 (saying in 30 days we will receive a notice) but since then have not heard anything back.

@lina reyes @pooja fnu @karla salazar You all have to write a letter to USCIS concerning your upgrade. You need to notify them

@pooja fnu same here. i don’t know if petition was upgraded or should I just wait and wait for my priority date on the visa bulletin. have you tried sending another letter to uscis?

@Gbonka CD i did send a letter to uscis about the upgrade but heard nothong from them. should i write them another letter???

hi @Gbonka CD we did write letter and send citizenship certificate as well but they never updated our case so even at this point I am so frustrated 😩

@H J me too, I contacted them again last month but this time they gave me a confirmation number for the request I made. They said to wait 30 days so I’m hopeful it will be updated soon.

@lina reyes hey Lina yes I ended up contacting my congressman and asked for them to reach out to uscis to upgrade my case because they hadn’t done it since May when I sent it my request & also for uscis to accept my i130.
case got upgraded & i130 accepted September 28 2024
