Upgrade Greencard F2A to Immediate Relative (I-130 Approved, I-485 (AOS) Pending)
Hi, my Husband is getting his US Citizenship oath in the next two weeks and I want to upgrade my case from F2A to Immediate Relative (IR1).
I am already here in the US and my I-130 and I-485 were filed concurrently on Nov 2021. My I-130 was approved on March 2023 and I-485 (Adjustment of Status) has been in ‘Actively Reviewing’ since March 2023 as well. We had also replied with Evidences for RFE on 485 in March 2023. Visa Bulletin has not been current since April of 2023 and we hope upgrading my case will expedite my case.
I have found online that you can simply upgrade my case by sending my husband’s Naturalization Certficate and including a cover letter about the intent but have not found concrete info what the actually steps are. I am planning to send the Naturalization Certficate and Cover letter to our ‘Field Office’ here in Atlanta along with uploading them online since the case is already in the field office. Please let me know if anyone has been through this experience and much would be appreciated if you could share your valuable information.

upload the letters on your portal and also give them a call. it’ll speed up your process! good luck!

if you are not sure where your case is at, ask for an agent through emma and get confirmation on the field office. Then you can send all that to them and later on talk again with an agent through Emma to confirm if they received it
