Update on My Adjustment of Status Case with USCIS
Yesterday, October 30, I completed my adjustment of status interview at the USCIS Dallas Field Office in Texas.
The interview has concluded; however, my application remains pending adjudication, as USCIS has not yet issued a decision.
In connection with my federal Mandamus lawsuit, the Government was granted an extension until November 13, 2026, to adjudicate my application or file an appropriate response with the Federal Court.
I now await an official decision.

I’m confused. I received the FBI letter on my USCIS account, but I haven’t received the mail. The decision is still pending. My interview was last October 23rd.

Receiving an FBI-related notice in your USCIS account does not necessarily mean your case has been approved or denied. Background checks and the final adjudication are separate steps. Since your interview was on October 23, it’s still relatively recent. I would recommend checking the exact notice, monitoring your USCIS account, and waiting for an official decision. Every case is different, and receiving that notice alone doesn’t indicate the outcome.

@Jarmandeep Singh The interview went smoothly. The officer reviewed my I-485, asylum application, credible fear interview, immigration history, employment, family information, and travel history. She also asked me to explain why I originally applied for asylum. Most questions were based on my previous applications. The interview was completed, but I’m still waiting for a final decision. I also have a pending federal mandamus lawsuit, and the government has until November 13 to either adjudicate my case or respond to the court. Hopefully, I’ll have an update soon!

@Marvin Mejia, thank you for your clarification. I believe every case is unique and different. I’m hoping for the best. I’ve been waiting for a year now, and I haven’t heard anything yet. I’m upset that I can’t fly domestically because my case is still pending.
