update: my I 485 case is well and truly over processing time… awaiting for inquiry response!! 😡😡😡😡
this is getting ridiculous… no response… not acceptable!!! my lawyer put in for inquiry yesterday, remaining hopeful!! RFE was sent in June 2023 because the medical expired… no response from that either. everything submitted almost immediately well before their deadline too.
I also just found out from my attorney that because i have to communicate with the Vermont Service Center for the inquiry and because of confidentiality issues, they will take 2 to 4 weeks to respond, unfortunately to either the general inquiry or inquiry for escalation…. and… There is no statutory requirement for USCIS to respond after an RFE.
Now my EAD and Travel permits run out in feb 2024. it will take 10months to process that as well after re-filing. So will not be able to work, losing my job soon whilst that’s happening.
uscis are taking far too long look at cases… and issuing RFEs because of their own negligence.
My case is sitting in the VA/DC field office but inquiries are only allowed to be made to the Vermont center… my application is doing what exactly… !?!? collecting dust I presume at this point!! I have a concurrent filing 🤷♀️

I am in the same I just got a letter that they need medical exams so I'm not sure what is next after that.

I got the RFE for medical in early June 2023 - it expired through no fault of my own… submitted it at the end of June after paying another $400 to redo the physical exam (deadline was mid august)… no response.

@kat . uscis has no legal obligation to respond to your inquiry but they have to respond to ombudsman/senator so i would do that,if i was you

mi permiso de viaje me lo aprobaron el diciembre luego otra vez en mayo y nunca lo e visto nunca lo enviaron y fue aprobado dos veces algo muy extraño. hoy llame para ver k pasa

@F A yes I saw - it’s their generic way of saying, “we will get to it, and notify you when we do”… but the Congressional is supposed to prove response… uscis cannot superceed a congressional response from government.
my congressional inquiry was started on 5th dec… they have a 30 day deadline to respond (minus the Xmas/new years holidays) so my response should come any day now

@F A no idea… but you should start a congressional inquiry. if you live in DC there are law courtesy’s for dc residents
