Hi everyone,
please did anyone get any update like “USCIS is currently processing your case”? If yes, please how long more did it take for any new update and what was the update that came? please and thank you! it’s been one year 3months for my EAD now, just got laid off from work coz of no new updates. and they only just updated it to this couple days ago.

omg this is sad.. @Princess ede why didnt u file for financial hardship? all u need is a letter from your employer and just some little docs. its not too late u can still put it in except u are not worried

@ob o I am really worried. My lawyers messed me up from the get go. when they filed for my VAWA. in 2022, they didn’t file for a work permit separately for me. and I didn’t realize this until like 3 yrs down the line when I kept wondering why I’m not getting my work permit yet. then I had them file for the work permit separately last year. I didn’t think it would really take this long (naive of me to think so I know) 🤦🏽♀️.

oh no sorry about that. it can be fix. it shouldn’t take that long. I have my combine AP/work card for 5 years. my lawyer told me before its end I should be done with everything.

@ob o I am a VAWA applicant and would appreciate some advice. I need to renew my Employment Authorization Document (EAD). I initially filed under the C31 category in June 2025, but I have not received any approval yet. Do you think I should submit a new Form I-765 under the C09 category instead? Has anyone been in a similar situation or have any advice to share? Thank you.

@Princess ede when last year was your ead put in?

@Dan Dan pls dont.. that would complicate things and they might close out your old ead application. if its just june 2025 u filed, u are atill withing time frame. you can try putting in an e request but they might not even let u do that. still try. go and do an e request on the uscis website and also do a congressional inquiry. contact your congress man.

@Dan Dan oh i just reread ur message.. yes pls cancel that ead. the c31 category wont be approved until vawa is approved in years to come. you will be handicapped. you need a co9 ead. however for u to have a co9 u need to have a i485 filed as well. usually people file both concurrently.. do u have a i485? do u have a lawyer?

@Dan Dan I will definitely say you need to apply for your work permit separately. that’s what’s messed me up. coz I didn’t file a separate work permit until last year. I only filed like you did in 2023. and was waiting before I realized that I’d have to file separately for my EAD. coz the way you filed is to wait until your green card before you get a work permit
