Upcoming Changes in Immigration Policies with the New Administration
I've spoken with a few attorneys I’ve worked with as paralegal and client to help break it down for you:
* Humanitarian Parole: Programs for certain countries may end, affecting new arrivals & current beneficiaries.
* Deportations: Increased focus on removals, especially for those with final orders. Know your rights before January 20th!
* Travel as Undocumented: Stricter TSA enforcement might affect options for flights or mobility for those who are undocumented.
* Asylum Interviews: A focus on the "last in, first out" system could mean faster interviews for new applicants.
* Green Card Applications: Potential delays and possible changes to the one-year waiting period before applying. (you might have to wait for 1 year like it used to be so APPLY ASAP if you’re eligible)
* More RFEs: Based on the previous 4 years of this administration, attorneys are expecting more RFEs on any little detail so make sure to triple check your forms before filing!
I’ll keep you guys posted as I get more info!
.

will thia affect already pending filed i-485 asylum ? im not talking about time im talking about future changes if its already filed
Immigration GuyNov 26, 2024
I asked about that too: if it's already filed it can just get delayed as they might deprioritize the i-485s and assign less agents. @victor _kc

@Immigration Guy how will those currently trying to get removal order dismissed because they have an approved I-130 be affected? If you’re still awaiting on a joint motion from opla will that no longer be given?
Immigration GuyNov 27, 2024
that's actually a very good question @John Wayne , I didn't ask that one but soon I'm hosting a session with one of my favorite attorneys online and will include this question there when we discuss the changes expected. it will be shared in my group so follow us along: https://www.skool.com/uscis
