unemployment because I don't have green card
I've been waiting for a job opportunity for almost three months. While I was completing onboard tasks, HR required me to offer a copy of my green card. It was lost while delivered, I don't even have a copy of it. Yesterday I just took my fingerprints and didn't see any update online. I tried to ask Emma to expedite the process but failed. I am so depressed I may lose the job offer. I tried to ask if I could offer my passport with a stamp I-551 but denied. What else I can do? I really need the job.😞

maybe you can show them a copy of your approval letter and SSN card. hope you have your ssn cuz without it you can’t start working or get paid

explain it to your job and they could always verify if you have a green card or not

@michael song do you mean the approval letter of my lost green card? I have ssn, but they keep asking me to show them the green card.

@O J They have sent more than ten emails for a copy, I also explained the situation and provided all the documents I had, like receipt, fingerprints appointment letter, and so on. I found that there are many other acceptable documents on the uscis regarding Form I-9. But they only required me to offer green card. I do agree that they can verify if I have a green card. But I can do nothing but wait and see which one comes earlier: green card approved or job refused..

request for new green card the only problem is it will takes months again to send you new one. ur alien registration number is stated in you approval notice however if they need your actual green card, you need to wait.

I mean they kinda need your A number. now that being said I don’t remember if it is stated on your approval notice for GC

That's weird. The 551 in your passport should be enough to prove that you're eligible to work. My suggestion : find another job
