unauthorized work
has anyone had experiences on admitting unauthorized work experience in the past? I saw many people said it will be waived if you’re married to a citizen, but I’m still a bit hesitant.
* more details: I worked at a restaurant as an waitress for about an year from 2022-2023 to support my own living expenses.
also will putting in that work experience (name of the company…etc) creates any further problems for the company?

yes you should select yes if you worked without authorization. I did the same and I still got my green card and interview waived

a woman I know even got a tax ID and paid taxes while working unauthorized lol. it is forgiven. however would I put a company’s name on the form? probably not personally because I would be worried they would go after them, but they definitely know it happens… A LOT

@Mac Roy Awah can I ask if you put that work experience into the employment history with the company’s name?
Mac Roy AwahJun 11, 2024

Getting a TAX ID and paid Taxes is no considered as working unauthorized. working unauthorized is working in a company that employed you knowing that you don't have papers. You shouldn't mentioned the fact that you work if you have been paid under the table- so like they paid you cash- because they will be no trace and the place you worked at will be free of problem. Because what people don't know is that there is a $15000 penalty fees for any employers who does that. so, if you don't want the IO to ask you more details, don't mentioned it. @Mac Roy Awah you have your interview waived but note that you will have double interviews when removing your conditions and that's when they will go deeper with you. IO are not stupid, but if you stick with your answer and can defend it, they won't have any way to prove the opposite. But if you give them any suspicious element, they will look deep into it. And for you @Leonor Che it's only recent so, if they asked you how did you survive, you can say it's my family who took care of me all this time.

Again that is my 1 cent... now, the rest depends on you. But don't forget that ALL Officers are not the same. The thing 1 can allow, the other may find it as a big issue

@BAYANO PARKER I didn’t get a two year card btw and honestly it depends on the individual. no one is really an expert in this so everyone should do them and pray to God

@Mac Roy Awah It is not depend on individual because no one is special. You should say " it depends on the Immigration Officer"... People think that having interviews waived are beneficial but a good and truthful lawyer will tell you it is a worst thing and to be prepared for the next interview -Either the removal or the citizenship- because it would be very huge. Thus, I'm not saying I'm an expert but just giving my 1 cent and being realistic... It all depends on the applicant's choice now.
