two very important issues..only answer if you know.
my fiance is from Colombia. we have suffered and perservered through the whole covid, embassy backED-up lying bullshit. she has her k1 and we got her daughters k2 via the K1. As of right now, for some unknown fucked up reason we are at a horrible point. her daughter is 17 years old, and her biological father is in prison. as of now, my fiance is UNABLE TO GET HIS FREAKING SIGNATURE ON PAPERWORK THAT ALLOWS THE DAUGHTER TO LEAVE THE COUNTRY. THE notories in her area are ABSOLUTELY DETESTABLE, IN THAT THEY PRETTY MUCH WANT HER FATHER TO BREAK OUT OF PRISON; COME SIGN THIS STUPID PAPER FOR PROOF, AND THEN GO SNEAK BACK INTO PRISON WITHOUT GETTING CAUGHT. THIS PROCESS OF OBTAINING A SIMPLE SIGNATURE FOR NOTORIZATION HAS COMPLETELY STOPPED OUR PROCESS. I EVEN BOUGHT PLANE TICKETS AND HAD EVERYTHING PLANNED UNTIL THIS SHIT HAPPENED. DOES ANYONE IN THIS COMMUNITY KNOW OF OR EXPERIENCED THIS BULLSHIT COLOMBIA RULE WHERE THE FATHER HAS TO SIGN OFF TO LET THE UNDER 18 DAUGHTER TRAVEL? THE FATHER HAS BEEN COMPLETELY ABSCENT HER ENTIRE LIFE AND now, somehow, this guy, the piece of shit notory writers, and the prison are making it absolutely impossible for us to finish the k1 visa process....again, DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A WAY TO GET THIS PROCESS DONE? THE ONLY REASON MY FISNCE IS SCARED IS BECAUSE HER UNCLE, WHO IS A LAWYER, TOLD HER THAT AT THE AIRPORT, THE IMMIGRATION PEOPLE WILL WANT TO VIEW THIS NOTORIZED PAPER THAT ACKNOWLEDGES THAT BOTH PARENTS OF THE MINOR ARE IN AGREEMENT THAT SHE CAN LEAVE THE COUNTRY. THIS IS ALL TAKING PLACE IN MEDELLIN. PLEASE, SOMEONE HAS TO KNOW SOMETHING! this PAPER IS SOME KIND OF AUTHORIZATION AND IT HAS TO BE NOTORIZED. ITS BULLSHIT. a guy who was never NEVER THERE is suddenly given rights to his daughter! its fucking retarded! [ OH, AND HER SO CALLED UNCLE LAWYER CANT SEEM TO DO ANYTHING TI HELP. WHAT A PIECE OF SHIT HE IS.] SECOND QUESTION: IF EVERYTHING GOES our WAY, DOES ANYONE HAVE EXPERIENCE AS FAR AS A FORIEGN CHILD ENTERING HIGH SCHOOL IN CALIFORNIA. HER DAUGHTER IS 17, DOESNT KNOW ENGLISH BUT IS LEARNING. IS THERE A SPECIAL SCHOOL OR PROGRAM THATS TAILORED TO TEACH ENGLISH WHILE ALLOWING THE CHILDREN TO ACTUALLY TSKE WATEVER COURSES TO GET A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA?? I DONT HAVE any physical sources to help with these issues. please !! someone has to know something!!

dude just bribe the prison guards or authoriy or even the father to get the signature, it’s weird am encouraging you to do that but that’s all they understand in that country. most countries you just need the consent of one parent especially when the other parent is a deadbeat. yes she can take esl classes and still get to do some courses but limited. I would suggest she just focuses on English class formally and just get some extra lesson for courses of her choice

I'm from Argentina.i was reading about Colombian laws. She needs the father sign for the permit. No matters if the father was with her 5 min or all her life. She has two options: Go to the jail(service penitenciario) explain the situation l and talk with them about let him sign the permit.(the permit has to be completed, no mistakes and accurate information).the second, she can do is talk with a family judge. She will has to go to the fiscalia and talk asking for a permit for . https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.gerencie.com/el-padre-de-mi-hijo-no-me-firma-el-permiso-para-salir-del-pais.html/amp

Russia has this rule, too. But my wife and I left Russia together so we didn't need any notarized letters.

I’m from Colombia. She may open a case at the Family Court through a Family Judge, they use to be efficient, but she must be patient. Even if the father is in prison, as he is the registered father in the Birth Certificate, law says he must grant the permission to her daughter if he is agree with her mother to travel abroad with her. About the school, she can take the GED Test in Spanish to get her High School Diploma, and take an English course at the college, or whatever she prefers.
