Trip to Europe
I have I-751 pending since November last year and my green card is expired. I want to go to Europe this year but I've heard a lot of stories about immigration officer making problems when you come back to the states. What are your experiences?

don’t travel outside USA with an expired greencard or without a i797 notice form that extends your greencard validity. if you haven’t received the i797 form of extension, please don’t travel

@Eni Kale Just carry your expired greencard, valid passport and your extension letter. You will be fine. I’ve traveled three times with absolutely no issues returning.

I have traveled twice with expired green card. you are good as long as you have the extension letter. no problem at all entering back to the US..

Along with the extension letter i suggest you make an appointment with uscis, and get an added stamp on your passport , if you have the added stamp on passport they definitely will not give you a hard time.
