Travelling with VAWA Adance parole
I’m from Nigeria and would really love to travel with my AP for Christmas to see my family, it’s been 6 long years and I miss my family, I got legally married here 3 years after graduation from college and was supposed to have my traditional wedding in Nigeria but my husband has been holding off and the abuse keeps getting worse. I really need to see my family for my sanity. Did anyone have issues traveling with the AP to and from Nigeria? what happens at secondary inspection when you get back into the country?

I talked with 2 different lawyer, and tree people that used the advance parole with Vawa process, the lawyers said if u don’t have any criminal or deportation you will be fine, they just bring u to second inspection, people that I talked and used the advance parole haven’t issues. I’m gonna use my next month for 20 days.

@AUG 22 please let’s stop this scare we put on people. besides Election is November, inauguration is still Jan ending. so snyone going to Lagos will now be there for 5months? the only advise I will say is before u use it, seek the counsel of ur attorney to check if you ve anyone proceedings over ur case be it criminal or watsoevet, they will see this. and if you are clear go. I have be en to 6countries while with this AP. Canada, Uk, Italy, Ireland, Nigeria and none of it did I have any ish. some airports even it’s from their pre clearance u get cleared and when you enter here, u come in as a domestic flier. like Ireland. all these best.

I landed at JFK airport and they didn't ask me any single question in secondary inspection. Don't Scared

@Aries I my advice for you wait until you get your GC if you don’t have any big emergency don’t used it ok good luck 🙏🙏
GOD HAVE MERCYAug 17, 2024
@me & you , I have it for almost 2yrs and I opted not to use it. I know 5people that had used it and they were all good. US President Sworn in date is January 20th or 21st. If Trump wins, you are free to use your AP. For your info, AP does not guarantee Re-Entry. This terms were explicitly stated on AP Approval Notice

don’t be scared to use it. I have use mine some many times to travel to Canada about 8 time. I am planning on traveling to Nigeria next year.

I used it this year January spent 20 days and returned. you won't be asked anything at the secondary inspection room until they investigate if you have any record before stamping it. I wish I have been using mine since 2018 it wont take me 10yrs before trying out. you are good to go, just make sure you keep your card safely and don't carry items for any one.

The comments made me feel better, booked my flight and excited to see my family in December. Thanks everyone for the positivity.

I just got back from nigeria after 30 days.i was not asked any questions. however,if you booked any airlines with layover in Europe or middle east you will need a transit visa.or you won't be allowed to board. i suggest you use delta or united to avoid any of that.
Odogwu IndyAug 20, 2024
@Aries You can travel to nigeria with advance parole... I went to nigeria 🇳🇬 in 2024 March 25th and I came back May 10th to the United states of america ... I didn't have any problem with the Immigration in Atl 🇺🇲 I'm still going back this December this year again... I wish you all the best Aries

I used it twice with no problem but MAKE sure that you booked a direct flight.NEVER buy a flight that will stop in Germany, the airline will not board you, from experience,I had to buy an emergency Delta ticket.Good favor.

@AUG 22 this is my plan. You so right . If it's Trump i am not going anywhere. I know what he did to the legal immigrants when he became president. He stop many legal immigrants with green cards from entering back into the country. So we all should be careful

@2022 filer from my research you can go if you didn’t overstay your visa, was ever out of status or in removal proceedings. Also, do not go through any country that requires you to have a transit visa, you will not be allowed to board, most people use a straight flight. I will be back to share my experience.
