Depends. My daughter is still waiting for GC, 27 days after approval, the rest of the family received theirs 20 days ago. So, if your card is running late, you might get stuck outside. I wouldn’t risk it. If your GC is approved, you can wait for a few days or ask for a stamp on your passport for an emergency trip.

@sk if your case was approved and you are just waiting for the card to arrive you can make an infopass appointment and get a i551 stamp on your passport. good luck

went to Application support office and met with the officer, she was super helpful and gave me a temp i551 valid for a month. god bless her.

@Dana no I didn’t have any appointment, i walked in. when i called for appointment this morning they said it may take up to 30 days and they also said it has to be stamped in the field office. i went to nearby application service center to try my luck and what do you know it worked!
