yes it was ok nothing to worry about, just be careful with everything you bring from the other countries as food or merchandise maybe you have to declare it

a greencard is a greencard doesn’t matter if it’s vawa based, Employment based or family based.

@sammy s I been to Australia 2 months ago first time abroad since 2017. I applied for Global Entry and I was approved. if you can, apply as well. it’s so easy to come back from traveling abroad and Global Entry. the only thing you have to do is to scan face at the kiosk, no immigration officer, no questions, everything took 10 seconds

I traveled recently and they did not ask a single question when I came back. The CBP officer only requested for my green card and I was done in about 2 minutes. The officer didn’t even look at my passport. It was very smooth for me.

@sammy s the reason your lawyer must have told you that is so as not to accumulate too much absence from the US and no be able to apply for citizenship at a time you should. A lot of people are making that mistake of traveling frequently because they now have a green card and after 3 years they suddenly realize they have accumulated too many days outside the US not to be able to apply then and have to wait for another 6 months or more. Aside that a Green card is a green card.
