TRAVEL WITH EXPIRED GC + EXTENSION LETTER
Hiiiii, I have a family emergency that requires me to travel. Anyone recently travel internationally with expired GC and #I-751 extension letter? Also, for the extension letter, did you bring the REAL one that USCIS mailed to you (with watermark) or just printed one from online portal? Please share your experience if you're entering SEATTLE!! :)
I'll be applying for #N-400 as soon as I get back (under 3 years rule)
Thank you so much for your time!!

I have the i751 extension and pending N400 traveled out side the U.S on last Christmas and New Year. The only issue we had is when coming back the Airlines (Lufthansa) didn't accept the extension letter at the Check-in, changed the flight with different Airlines, and everything went smoothly at the check-in and the immegration by Homeland security at the airport. Long story short, check with the airline that they accepted the extension letter along with the expired GC to let you come back. Cheers!

You're totally fine. I just got back yesterday from my home country, there was no issue. My advice is to use Delta Air Lines, and don’t forget to bring your original green card and the extension letter.

I just got back from an international trip last Saturday with expired greed card + extension card. Just as usual I’m sent to the secondary passport office for further verification . They did the necessary checks and told me you’re set to go. So all good

Didn’t have any issues with traveling per se except that even during transit from third countries they will check and verify the extension (including taking pictures of the extension, which I felt was kind of intrusive) and then on my return back I had secondary questioning for verification. It was perfectly legal to travel and return back to the US.

i travelled with all original documents. no problem at all. if you are travelling to India better go through Gulf countries. I was denied boarding on Luftansa via frankfurt.

everything went smoothly when I got back about 3 weeks ago. you will definitely go through secondary screening for verification and a few questions will be asked. a little wait time and if no issues, you will be give back your documents. all the best

happy I found this thread. I have been scared to travel using the letter due to what's been going on with immigration as of late.

Hi all, I just got back from international travel yesterday with NO issue at all :)
- they questioned me a lot (where was I, how long was I gone for, what did I do there, have I ever has F1/J1 visa, how long have I been in Seattle, where was I before Seattle, did I travel alone, do I have anything to declare, and if I bring any meats) but I didn't have to go to the secondary screening.
- they went through every page of my current passport (nothing there as it was a new passport) I told them that I have my old passport with me. the officer said he doesn't need my old passport. then said "welcome back!"
hope you have a great international travel as well💓
