i asked this to an officer when I got AP and he told me there is not a specific time, but if you are applying for green card, USCIS expects you come back after your emergency is done. In my case, I stayed out one month.

I traveled to my home country with my AP in last April and I spent 50 days. well was smooth entry when I came back to Washington DC airport.
