Travel on AP recommended?
would you recommend traveling on AP to home country? we would only stay a week to get to see my family! my conditions: + overstayed visa 4 years (married/filed on year 4) + pending I130 + I485 - filed concurrently, but lawyer advised against sending in bonafide evidence until asked for. + no criminal background any question please feel free to ask and would love to hear experiences from anyone with similar situation!

I don’t have AP but I have heard stories from different people in this app that they traveled with no problems to home country and even overseas, they even stayed for about a month or so and had no problems coming back. I mean what’s the whole point of AP if you can’t travel? you know what I mean. Again this is based on the stories I have heard from here, and not personal experience.

ikr? it’s just super scary when they say “parole into the US is not guaranteed” AP got approved last week so just waiting for it to come in the mail. thanks for sharing!! @K F

@menla seego Since you overstayed your visa, my advise is to play it safe and not to travel till you have your GC in hand. If you did not overstay your visa, then you can definitely travel without any worries.

@E O if the overstay was a problem they wouldn’t have given the AP!

hi, I spent a month in my home country I traveled with a combo card with a pending i485. My lawyer said I was able to travel and have no problems with renetry. I had no issues no questions asked at the border.

@menla seego Go on your trip and come back 👍no worries at all it's a travel document and the fact you're married to a Citizen forgives your overstay that's why the Advance parole was issued to you Secondly I'll advise you upload all/every evidence you have to proof bona-fide marriage to your online account trust me it gives you soft landing if and when called for interview. Some of this lawyers know literally nothing with respect 🙏 to few when it concerns immigration or how on earth would he advise you against sending all your evidences one shot I believe you did your homework well when hiring him and know better but that's just my own take from experience Do have a wonderful trip

thanks so much! @D D I figured we’d upload some evidence online to see if that fast tracks anything or even waive interview… whatever the result, we will deal with it.
