Employed under F1 STEM OPT, also with a pending I-485. Traveled abroad with an advance parole 2 week ago (march 2022). Returned with no problem to the US, except that CPB will put you in a separate room (20 min) to review the AP document and may ask few questions. The problem is that when admitted to the US, the class of admission is now DA (advance parole), and not F1. Now I am trying to figure out if this class of admission (DA), will affect my ability to work under STEM OPT EAD card. Did you ended up traveling? What is your experience?

Yes. Your employer won't ask, but you have to report your exit and return to your school (I-94). They communicated me that since I was not under F1, my EAD STEM OPT was not valid. Fortunately for me the very next week I got the EAD card from my pending case.
